COVID-19 and Flu Testing

Testing for COVID-19 and the flu plays an important role in determining effective treatment and prevention for these illnesses.

I Have Symptoms or Am Preparing for a Surgery or Procedure: Screening (nasopharyngeal) Testing

Screening (nasopharyngeal) testing enables medical providers to determine the proper course of treatment for individuals who are:

Schedule your COVID-19 test

Screening (nasopharyngeal) testing is available at seven locations in Southwest Ohio through Premier Health and CompuNet Clinical Laboratories. Please note:

  • A physician’s order is required at all locations except for self-pay tests. Many orders will be electronic that your physician will send to the testing location of your choice.
  • Testing is by appointment only at all locations except at OnMain (formerly Montgomery County Fairgrounds), located on Main St. across from Miami Valley Hospital.
  • For self-pay tests, PCR tests are available at eight locations. Antigen (rapid) tests are available at many locations.

To ensure an orderly process, it is vitally important that if you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or the flu, first contact your family physician or primary care provider. Work with your provider’s office to see if you meet certain criteria before you come to any of the collection sites. If you do not have a physician’s order, you may opt to pay for the test using a credit card or debit card.

I Don't Have Symptoms But Want or Need to Be Tested

If you are asymptomatic, meaning you currently don’t have symptoms of COVID-19, but want to be tested or rule out a diagnosis of COVID-19 (including for travel documentation), Premier Health and CompuNet Laboratories offer screening testing. This may be helpful if you don’t have symptoms of COVID-19 but may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19. You can:

  • Talk with your provider to determine what screening test is right for you and where to receive the test
  • Get a self-pay test

Getting Test Results

CompuNet will collect and forward specimens to its core lab in Moraine for testing. Results are available in MyChart (for patients whose physician ordered the test in Epic) or through CompuNet’s patient portal, My Labs Now.

IgG Antibody Testing

Testing for antibodies (blood test) after COVID-19 passes can provide peace of mind regarding previous symptoms. Antibody testing (blood test) for COVID-19 can potentially tell a patient if they have had a past COVID-19 infection. Antibody testing is available through CompuNet. Learn more.
